When using a DSLR, specifically one with more features than the average, it is important to learn how to make the most of its various functions. One thing I learned as soon as I moved up from the canon rebel series was to always shoot on manual mode. Think this is obvious? Think again! Many people, including those whose profession is photography, use the automatic function. The two unedited pictures above show a quick visual example of the difference the camera mode can make. When in automatic, the picture is flat, dark, and lifeless. When using the appropriate manual settings, the picture comes to life with light, colour, and vibrancy.
